A motorcyclist of approximately 23 years old died this Sunday after having an accident while trying to escape from agents of the National Civil Police (PNC) on the route to the Pacific, in Escuintla. During the investigation, the authorities located a shotgun with the registration number deleted that, according to the police version, would have been thrown by the deceased moments before the fall.
The incident began at kilometer 56.1 of CA-9 South, in Escuintla, where agents were carrying out a security operation.
According to the PNC, the man, who was riding a motorcycle plate M-301BKNobserved the police presence, crossed a red light and sped up to avoid being identified.
Faced with this situation, the agents began a chase using a police motorcycle.
According to the report, upon arriving at kilometer 62 of the CA-9 South Ain the sector known as Palo Bridgethe driver lost control due to the speed at which he was traveling, skidded and suffered a fall that caused his death at the scene.
The authorities indicated that An agent participating in the chase tried to stop to help the motorcyclist after observing the accident, but he also skidded. The police officer suffered blows to the right collarbone.

Shotgun was located in the weeds
The PNC reported that, approximately 300 meters before the place where the accident occurred, an abandoned shotgun was located in the undergrowth. According to the authorities, the weapon has an erased serial number, so it will be subjected to the corresponding analyzes and investigations to determine its origin.
Police said the man allegedly threw the gun during the chase before losing control of the motorcycle. After the event, the institution reiterated the call to motorcycle drivers to respect traffic signs, avoid excessive speed and heed the instructions of the authorities.
The PNC regretted the death of the young man and recalled that evasion maneuvers and reckless driving significantly increase the risk of fatal accidents.

According to the Departmental Municipal Firefighters, the bodies showed signs of violence. Lifeguards from the Chicacao station went to the scene to verify the situation and notified the corresponding authorities to begin investigations.
