“In June we will observe the Sun and the wonders of space like professionals,” is part of the invitation that the Miraflores Museum made with the launch of the second module of the Space Scouts workshop.
This space was designed for children from 7 to 12 years old to learn astronomy in a practical, fun and dynamic way. The scientific and exploration activities will lead participants to learn about topics such as the Sun, the stars and the wonders of the cosmos in an entertaining way.
The workshop, organized by the Miraflores Museum and the Guatemalan Astronomy Association (AGA), will allow each child to discover the Sun through a telescope.
This module also includes the continuation of the Space Captain’s Log Vol. 2according to Museum data. This astronomical club for children seeks to encourage learning through games, exploration and creativity.
Previously, the Museum highlighted that this workshop was divided into three modules with the topics: The star that illuminates us, A dance of giants, Use of telescope and solar observation and the lord of the rings. Module two runs from June to August, while the third module will run from September to November.
The workshop will be taught by astronomers from the Guatemalan Astronomy Association (AGA), who highlight that within Space Scouts children will learn basic concepts of astronomy in a fun and simple way: “From what differentiates astronomy from other sciences to what a nebula, a comet, planets and much more are.”
