On June 12, Mon Laferte published Femme Fatale Vol. 2, an album that includes 20 songs and that the artist defines as a project unrelated to trends.
The singer, songwriter, visual artist and producer, promotes her new album, which emerged from the same creative process that gave shape to her acclaimed album Femme Fatale.
According to Sony Music, Femme Fatale Vol. 2, preserves the same emotional and artistic essence of femme fatale, but with a different approach. Furthermore, this recent album was produced by Mon Laferte together with Manu Jalil, with some songs co-produced by Rick Nowels.
Laferte is an iconic artist who has been recognized as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Latin music.
Curiosities of Femme Fatale Vol. 2
Sony Music indicated that, for this new album, Mon Laferte composed more than 50 songs, some new and others recovered from personal archives. However, he selected 20 of them to include in this album in which he explores influences from blues, folk, punk and alt-rock.
“My intention with femme fatale was to create a sophisticated album, unrelated to trends: cinematic, theatrical, poetic and raw; dark, elegant and introspective. That intention guided the selection of those songs and I felt that they belonged to another sound universe,” Laferte explained.

“In Femme Fatale Vol. 2, Mon builds a symbolic universe of feminine archetypes: the bride, the beauty queen, the mysterious woman and the diva, among others. Not as isolated characters, but as variations of an evolving identity. Figures shaped by the gaze of others, desire and inherited ideas about femininity; identities historically represented rather than truly inhabited,” Sony Music added.

The 20 themes that are part of Femme Fatal Vol. 2 They have the Laferte seal. However, some have the collaboration of other emblematic artists.
St. Vincent participates as a guest in While I’ll Keep Writing Songs for Youthus reinforcing the alternative nature of the album.
Mon also features emerging Chilean artist Javiera Electra, who participated in its show main event at the Viña del Mar Festival, where Laferte received the Silver, Gold and Platinum Gaviotas, in addition to the Mexican GRTSCH, who recently included Mon in one of her singles.

Femme Fatal Vol. 2 includes Despite you and methe recently released lead single with a music video that occupies the emotional center of the album.
According to Mon, the song captures the feeling of holding on to something while realizing that it is time to let it go.
In the video clip, this tension occurs in a beauty pageant and the protagonist returns to a space that she once knew and conquered, so she seeks to rediscover herself.
“Visually, the project continues where the first volume ended, resuming the photo session carried out with Neil Krug, in which the idea of dividing the universe was born. femme fatale in two parts.
