A 17-year-old minor remains in the custody of the National Civil Police (PNC) in a care center, after a mob beat him after pointing him out as allegedly responsible for an armed attack that occurred this Sunday, June 21, near the La Placita market, in zone 1 of the capital.
According to the PNC, agents from Police Station 11 intervened on 18th Street and 6th Avenue in Zone 1, where they located the teenager, who was wearing a bulletproof vest and a Glock brand pistol.
According to police information, the minor is accused of being responsible for an armed attack in which two men, aged 18 and 24, died from gunshot wounds.
The PNC indicated that, after the incident, the teenager tried to flee on a motorcycle with license plates M-877MRQ. However, he was detained by several people who beat him before the authorities intervened.
Due to his injuries, he was transferred to a care center, where he remains in police custody.
According to the PNC’s first investigations, the attack could be related to rivalries between gangs.
