Six municipalities spend more than Q490 thousand to celebrate Teacher’s Day

This June 25th is celebrated Teacher’s Day in Guatemalaand six municipalities planned activities to entertain their local teachers. For this they will disburse Q494 thousand 422 for lunches and dinners.

According to the State Contracting and Acquisitions Information System (Guatecompras), the communes used the direct purchase modality, since the expense did not exceed Q90 thousand.

In the case of the Municipality of Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, Escuintlabought 1,150 lunches that included meat, mashed potatoes, salad, bread and fresh. Each dish costs Q78, so the total to pay was Q89 thousand 700. According to the rules, the event took place this June 23 at noon at the Municipal Sports Center.

The commune of Villa Canales, Guatemalapurchased a thousand lunches of imported premium puyaso, accompanied by beans, coditos, chirmol and two tortillas. The activity was held on June 19 for teachers from public and private establishments in the municipality. The expense was Q89 thousand 500so each dish was paid at Q89.50.

Two events awarded by the Municipality of Guatecompras appear on the Guatecompras portal. Teculutan, Zacapato celebrate the teachers. One is for Q65 thousand as food for 500 people, which included a welcome cocktail, main course with two side dishes, carbonated drink, dessert, natural soft drink and bottle of purified water. For each dinner he paid Q130.

Separately, the service of artistic assembly and support personnel was awarded, and the commune spent Q82 thousand 500. This included driving and entertainment, audio service for an outdoor event, stage rental, scenery, light tower and giant screen, musical group and decoration.

The teachers of Tacaná, San Marcos, They were also celebrated by the municipality with a “gala dinner” on June 22, at 6 p.m. The expense for 700 dinners was Q35 thousand, so the unit value was Q50. The menu included two pieces of golden chicken, fries, sauces, tortillas and soda.

In El Progreso, Jutiapawas spent Q87 thousand 725 to cover 280 dinners and 325 lunches, with side dishes and drinks. For each service we paid Q145and the cost included furniture, decorations, glassware, waiters, tablecloths and the room. The activities were held on June 22 and 23, respectively, for teachers from the public and private sectors.

Necessary entertainment

“Teachers are the ones who give the bread of knowledge to our children, and if they are educating our children, how can we not thank them?” says Marvin Enrique Zepeda González, mayor of El Progreso, Jutiapa, which is why every year he organizes a special activity for them.

Mayor Pedro Sánchez Cortez, of Concepción Chiquirichapa, considers it necessary to entertain the teachers on their day, since the Education is one of the backbones for development of a society. He indicated that he works closely with the union and that the construction of three schools is currently in process to support teaching work.
