The Association of Venezuelans in Guatemala (Asovegua), an organization that coordinates humanitarian support actions for the Venezuelan community in the country, began a campaign to collect medical supplies and non-perishable food for people affected by the earthquakes registered in Venezuela.

The initiative has the support of the United States, which will facilitate the air transportation of donations from Guatemala to Miami and, later, to Venezuela, as part of a humanitarian bridge.

This is the first phase of the campaign and will remain open from this Thursday, June 25, until Saturday, June 27.

Asovegua called on individuals, companies, non-profit organizations and institutions that wish to contribute with donations.

Items needed include:

  • Dressing material: sterile gauze, bandages, Micropore tape, dressings, cotton and sutures
  • Antibiotic creams for wounds
  • Ointments for burns and healing
  • Over-the-counter antidiarrheals and antacids
