Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid, Irish musician from Snow Patrol, began dating at the end of 2013, after meeting at a party that the actress organized at her home and attended by numerous stars.
The actress of Friends62, and McDaid broke up their relationship, the magazine confirmed Peopleafter the Daily Mail inform about the breakup.
In July of last year, the actress celebrated the musician’s 48th birthday with an emotional party. The last time they were seen together was during the US Open in September.
Their relationship was marked by several ups and downs: they began dating in 2013; Nine months later they got engaged and, in 2015, they separated.
A year later they resumed the relationship, but did not get engaged again. Apparently, when they returned they resumed the relationship with another perspective.
In a podcast, in 2024, Cox said: “After three years we broke up and it was very intense. “We broke up in therapy.” On that occasion he said that McDaid ended the relationship in the first minute of the session, when they were still engaged: “I was shocked. “I felt immense pain.”
However, he assured that he learned a lot from that experience and that, in the end, he was grateful for the breakup, because it helped them transform their relationship when they got back together.
According to people close to the couple, this time the separation was “a friendly distancing” and was due to the fact that they both led “different lives.”
Their projects have followed different paths: Cox lives in Los Angeles and McDaid spends most of his time in London.
Apparently, they maintain a great friendship and continue to care about each other.
