The demand for goods and services in the economy increases before and during Holy Week, when there is a greater productive activity in Guatemala a cycle that is seasonal.
The Bank of Guatemala (Banguat) reported that an additional injection of cash or paper money will be made to the economy for Q1 thousand 800 million and money will reach the Q97 billion known as monetary mass.
Vinicio Cáceres Dávila, general manager of the Banguat said that there are cash reserves to meet the cash requirements during Holy Week, which seasonally increases due to the displacement of people to the main tourist sites or recreation centers or place of residence.
The official explained that the defined program will begin this Friday, April 11, Dolores Friday and so on to cover the days of the holiday.
