On Friday, July 3, an accident occurred at kilometer 115 of the route to the Atlantic, in Usumatlán, Zacapa, where two people died.
One of the vehicles involved was a trailer loaded with blocks, driven by a 16 year old teenagerwho died after crashing into a ceiba tree.
Previously, the trailer collided head-on with a private vehicle, whose driver also died.
The General Directorate of Transport (DGT) reported this Sunday that cargo transportation It did not have a third party insurance policy or a speed limiter system.both mandatory according to the Traffic Law and its regulations.
“This direction urges cargo transportation companies to only hire drivers with the age, license and training required by law,” the DGT indicates in a statement.
He added that will initiate an administrative sanctioning process against the company that owns the unit for the aforementioned breaches.
