The National Civil Police (PNC) shared details of the capture of two alleged gang members who, according to authorities, intended to carry out an armed attack in San Pedro Ayampuc.
He indicated that, in lot 1, block K, Lomas de San José II, San Pedro Ayampuc, police from Police Station 12 and investigators from the Specialized Criminal Investigation Directorate captured José “N”, alias “Chero”, and Gustavo “N”, 20 years old, alias “Colocho”.
According to the PNC, as a result of the operations in the sector, on Monday, July 6, the agents realized that the two alleged gang members of the Salvatrucha gang intended to attack the workers of a mechanical workshop.
He added that both were riding aboard the M-698MVX motorcycle. In addition, they were carrying firearms and, when they were discovered, they tried to flee, but were neutralized by a group of PNC agents.
The agents confiscated a Grand Power carbine, caliber 9 millimeters, reported to have been stolen on January 9, 2025 in the Majadas neighborhood, zone 11.
They also seized a Tanfoglio brand pistol with a frosted registration, two grenades, two hoppers, 75 ammunition and two cell phones that will be analyzed.
“With the capture of these gang members, the PNC avoids an armed attack in San Pedro Ayampuc, where operations have already been strengthened, as well as in sectors of zone 18,” the PNC stated.
