Four people were found shot to death this Wednesday, July 8, on a dirt road that leads to the Kabanú farm, on the route to the village of Las Delicias, La Democracia, Escuintla. Three of the victims were in a pick-up truck and, inside the cabin, lifeguards located an approximately 2-year-old girl unharmed.
According to the Departmental Municipal Firefighters, three of the victims were located in a pick-up type vehicle and a fourth was lying a few meters from the car. All had multiple gunshot wounds.
One of the aspects that caught the attention of the first responders was the discovery of a girl of approximately 2 years old inside the cabin of the vehicle. The minor had no injuries and was found unharmed.
Firefighters from the La Democracia station went to the scene, where they confirmed the death of the four people and notified the authorities to carry out the corresponding procedures.
So far, authorities have not reported an official line of investigation nor have they identified the victims.
However, due to the characteristics of the scene, the incident could correspond to a direct attack. Among the elements that investigators must analyze is that the minor remained unharmed inside the vehicle, while the four adults were attacked with a firearm. However, this circumstance has not yet been officially confirmed as part of the investigations.
The Public Ministry and the National Civil Police must establish the identity of the victims, the motive for the crime and the circumstances in which the attack occurred.
