Four alleged members of the criminal structure called “The Predators”who are already in prison for other acts, were notified of new criminal proceedings for their alleged participation in several kidnapping cases, reported the National Civil Police (PNC).
According to the PNC, the group used the same modus operandi: He bought pit bull dogs to attract the victims, who were summoned to different parts of Sacatepéquez under the pretext of delivering the animals and, upon arriving at the place, they were kidnapped.
Otto René Argueta García, 44 years old, imprisoned at the Canada Rehabilitation Model Farm, in Escuintla, was notified of new proceedings for the crimes of illicit association, kidnapping or kidnapping, and rape with an aggravated sentence.
At the Preventive Detention Center for Men in zone 18, Gary Edilson Ramírez Divas, 23, was notified of illicit association and kidnapping or kidnapping. In the same prison, Erickson David Herrera De León, 25, was also notified of illicit association, kidnapping or kidnapping, and rape with an aggravated sentence.
In addition, Alba Emelí Orellana, 38 years old, held in the Santa Teresa Preventive Detention Center for Women, zone 18, was notified of a new process for illicit association and kidnapping or kidnapping.
According to the PNC, this criminal structure is linked to several kidnappings committed during 2023. Among them is a case registered on November 8, when two people were kidnapped and those responsible demanded Q500,000 to release them.
Another event occurred on November 18 of that year, when two victims were deprived of their liberty and the kidnappers demanded Q200,000 for their release.
Likewise, on November 24, 2023, the kidnapping of two other people was reported, for whom those responsible demanded Q100 thousand.
The PNC indicated that the members of the structure were captured in flagrante delicto and that the new notifications correspond to other cases already clarified by the Anti-Kidnapping Command. He added that investigations continue to identify and capture other possible members of the criminal group.
