No one stops the passage of time and, in a few days, the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada will end.
Of the 104 matches that the tournament promised, the last four will culminate this week: the two semifinals, the match for third place and the grand final, on July 19.
Regarding the match that will define the champion, FIFA recently announced that celebrities and musicians will be present at MetLife Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
On its official website, FIFA reported that, with the help of the company Global Citizen, artists such as Madonna, BTS and Shakira will star in the halftime show of the World Cup final.
“The performances will be conducted by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and will be broadcast live to millions of fans around the world,” FIFA said.
The sports entity added that, before the game, there will also be a show that will last 90 minutes.
This show will feature several international artists, both from the musical field and other branches of entertainment, including Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams and the influencer IShowSpeed.
In addition, singer Jennifer Hudson will be in charge of performing the United States national anthem in the minutes before the game.
Actors of the caliber of Tom Cruise and other guests who, FIFA stated, will not yet be revealed until the final of the tournament will also participate.
“We want to highlight the passion, emotion and global character that have defined the 23rd edition of the 48-team FIFA World Cup; an event that has marked a before and after in football, has broken records and has allowed a new generation of boys and girls around the world to dream big,” says FIFA.
