People were injured and killed in traffic accidents that occurred in different parts of the country, according to the rescue forces.
The Departmental Municipal Firefighters were alerted this Wednesday, July 15, about an accident at kilometer 105 of the Inter-American Highway, where a trailer overturned and destroyed a pickup truck that was transporting firewood.
First responders provided pre-hospital care to the occupants of both vehicles and then transported them to a care center.
They added that at the scene they also attended to the pilot of the heavy vehicle, originally from Puerto Barrios, Izabal, who indicated that he lost control of the trailer and hit the pick-up truck.
The Chimaltenango Volunteer Firefighters gave details of an accident recorded at kilometer 56.7 of the Inter-American route.
At the scene, for unknown reasons, a truck and a motorcycle collided.
According to the report, a woman who was traveling on the motorcycle suffered multiple trauma, for which she was transferred in a delicate condition to the National Hospital of Chimaltenango.
A man who was also traveling on the motorcycle died at the scene due to multiple trauma suffered by the force of the collision.
The motorcycle was destroyed; The deceased has not been identified.
On Tuesday night, the Departmental Municipal Firefighters reported that at kilometer 27, on the El Zope slope, on the route between Bárcenas, Villa Nueva, and Santa Lucía Milpas Altas, Sacatepéquez, a man who was riding a motorcycle lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a trailer.
Lifeguards tried to help him, but he died at the scene due to the severity of the injuries suffered in the impact.
They added that at kilometer 85 of National Route 14, entering San Juan Alotenango, Sacatepéquez, a collision was recorded between a sedan-type vehicle and a heavy transport vehicle.
Firefighters worked at the scene with hydraulic equipment, known as the jaw of life, to rescue a person who was inside the light vehicle, who was later transferred to the emergency room at the National Hospital of Antigua Guatemala.
