During the analysis it was mentioned that the images do not clearly show yellow tape, messages of “fresh cement” or another warning posted directly in front of the area affected.
“I don’t see yellow tape, I don’t see messages that say ‘fresh cement’, ‘caution’ or ‘do not pass here’”, it was commented during the broadcast.
The analysts specified that the possible absence of visible signage at the entry point does not exempt the driver from acting prudently. They added that, upon realizing that he had entered fresh concrete, he had to stop and look for a way to get out without continuing on the surface.
Damage to the work is paid for with public funds
One of the main points focused on the fact that damage caused to a municipal project can generate new expenses for its repair.
The analysts explained that, if the pavement is damaged and must be intervened again, the population ends up assuming the cost through public resources.

Given what happened, the Municipality of Sololá called on residents and drivers to respect traffic restrictions and protect the works carried out with public funds.
