Who used the chips linked to the DPI of Andrés Alcázar

More than a year after the kidnapping and disappearance of the dentist Julio Amílcar Martínez Murillowhich occurred on May 28, 2025, the Public Ministry (MP) identified a sixth alleged suspect after establishing that five of the telephone lines used by the alleged kidnappers during the ransom negotiations were activated with the same Personal Identification Document (DPI).

This discovery led the Anti-Kidnapping Prosecutor’s Office to request a new arrest warrant against Andrés Alcázar Crespo19 years old, issued on July 2 and executed seven days later.

The Prosecutor’s Office explained that, as part of the follow-up of the case, it requested information from telephone companies to identify the owners of the lines used by the kidnappers.

He added that one of the companies reported that the numbers 56694673, 56815775 and 56815734among others, were activated with the DPI of Alcázar Crespo.

He explained that those phones were used by different members of the criminal structure.

“From the analysis of the information it is also established that the numbers 56694673, 56815775 and 56815734 were used by the perpetrators to communicate with the victim’s wife, Karim Marisela del Cid Hernández, family spokesperson, to demand money in exchange for the release of her husband Julio Amílcar Martínez Murillo,” said the Prosecutor’s Office during the first statement hearing on July 15.

According to the MP’s investigation, the five lines were used by different members of the structure. One corresponded to Carlos Antonio González y Gonzálezidentified by the Prosecutor’s Office as the alleged negotiator who demanded that the family pay Q5 million for the release of the dentist; another was used by Anelsi Adelí Quiñonez Coradocurrently a fugitive and former domestic employee of Julio Leonardo Alejandro Girón Castañedaidentified as the alleged ringleader in the kidnapping. The MP points to Quiñones as Girón’s operator and right hand. Presumably, he maintained communication between Girón and the structure.

Other numbers are also attributed to the man who posed as a Mexican and who called the dentist’s wife to warn her that, after the capture of two members of the group, they should “accept the consequences.”

Alcázar Crespo’s version

During his statement, Alcázar Crespo assured that he lost his DPI on two occasions: on April 29 and December 2, 2025, and stated that he processed the replacement of those documents at a headquarters of the National Registry of Persons (Renap) in Fraijanes, although he does not remember the exact address.

He also acknowledged that he studied with Nicole Giron Lemusdaughter of Julio Leonardo Alejandro Girón Castañeda, identified by the MP as the alleged ringleader of the structure, although he assured that they were only classmates from fifth high school.

The accused denied knowing where Nicole Girón lived within the Vilaverde condominium and assured that he never found out about the kidnapping of the dentist or the raids carried out by the MP in August of last year.

Defense questions investigation

During the first statement hearing, the defense asked the judge that his client not be linked to the process, maintaining that the MP did not present sufficient evidence to prove his participation in the kidnapping.

The lawyer stated that the investigation only links Alcázar Crespo with an DPI number and maintained that there is no evidence that he had participated in the deprivation of liberty of the victim or in the ransom negotiations.

After listening to the MP and the defense, the judge decided to bind Andrés Alcázar to preventive detention for the crime of kidnapping or kidnapping as complicity.

The kidnapping and disappearance of the dentist

Julio Amílcar Martínez Murillo disappeared on May 28, 2025, when he was going to his clinic in El Jocotillo, Villa Canales. According to the MP’s investigation, he was followed by at least three vehicles since he left a shopping center on the route to El Salvador and was subsequently intercepted after kilometer 38 of the route to El Jocotillo.

For nine days, the kidnappers negotiated with the family and demanded Q5 million for their release. On June 5, 2025, a family member delivered Q763 thousand at a gas station on Hincapié Avenue, zone 13.

The money was received by a man who was wearing a motorcycle helmet to avoid being identified by surveillance cameras. Since then there has been no further communication with the dentist and his whereabouts remain unestablished.

The Prosecutor’s Office identifies Julio Leonardo Alejandro Girón Castañeda, a friend of the victim for more than 12 years, as the alleged leader of the structure.

According to the MP, this relationship allowed him to know the dentist’s routines and movements to plan the kidnapping. Besides, Girón Castañeda appears as a defendant in other investigations by the Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime related to alleged crimes of robbery and vehicle theft.
