With a timeline that tells the 250 years of the transfer of the capital to the Ermita Valley Through art, comes the exhibition “Traces of a city, 250 years inhabiting the valley”, which will take its visitors on a tour of the formation and development of the metropolis.
This space will cover history from the transfer of the capital to the present and will show the events that marked its development, highlights the Municipality of Guatemala. The exhibition will offer photographs, works and even historical stories that will help the visitor travel back in time.
As part of the artistic compilation that tells this story, the public will be able to appreciate paintings, illustrations and other artistic expressions that show the transformation of emblematic places in Guatemala City.
The change of buildings, the transformation of its most emblematic streets, such as Paseo de la Sexta, and the events that marked the city, such as earthquakes, will be part of this experience.
Various Guatemalan artists will exhibit portraits and other works. One of the curiosities highlighted by the Municipality of Guatemala is that attendees will be able to enjoy the emblematic panoramic views captured by Augusto de Succa, which show the first years of Guatemala City.
