Following speculation that arose on social media after his participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, in which Robbie Williams was accused of having consumed cocaine during a live broadcast, the British actor and singer broke his silence.
The allegations about alleged drug use arose on Sunday, July 19, 2026, after the artist performed the official anthem of the 2026 World Cup together with Nicole Scherzinger and Laura Pausini, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where the final between Argentina and Spain was played.
After his participation, Williams gave an interview to the German media MagentaTV. As he spoke on camera, a white object fell from his mouth onto the microphone.

Social media users spread the images and speculated that it was cocaine, which is why they accused Robbie Williams of consuming it during the broadcast.
Hours later, the artist decided to clarify the situation and on Monday, July 20, he published a video on his social networks to explain what happened.
“I just wanted to apologize for the object that fell on the microphone yesterday. I was deeply unprofessional and people are worried about me, but it’s okay because I have several more,” he said with humor.
After his words, he showed his tongue to show two white pills to freshen his breath, with which he referred to the origin of the object that came out of his mouth during the interview.

Although the artist had addiction problems in the past, on different occasions he has referred to the issue and explained how his relationship with those experiences has changed.
“I haven’t drunk alcohol in 25 years. That part is not difficult for me. The difficult thing is to face life as it is. But now I trust myself,” declared the interpreter at the beginning of July, during an interview with the Spanish newspaper The Country.
In the conversation, he also reflected on the impact that addictions had on his life and professional career, but he assured that he does not believe that a day of anxiety would lead him to use cocaine and relapse. “I know and trust myself more than before,” he said.
