Deportivo San Pedro, directed by Edwin “Chino” Vásquez confirmed that he will make history this weekend by playing a match in the Guatemalan National League for the first time.after achieving the long-awaited promotion after a memorable 2025-2026 season.

The Shecano group realized a dream that they pursued for more than three decades. After several attempts in previous seasons, he obtained the ticket to the highest category of Guatemalan soccer, marking a historic moment for the institution, its players and the Sampedrana fans.

After the promotion was completed, the San Pedro Municipal Stadium underwent remodeling and improvement work to comply. For several weeks there was uncertainty about whether the venue would be ready for the start of the 2026 Apertura Tournament.
