Guatemala won its second gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 by winning the skeet team event. Sebastián Bermúdez Labbé, Carlos Padilla Coronado and Santiago Romero Juárez set a new Central American and Caribbean record with 344 dishes knocked down, surpassing Puerto Rico, which finished second with 338 dishes, and Guadalupe, which completed the podium with 337.

The national team dominated the competition from the qualifying phase. Sebastián Bermúdez shared the provisional lead in the individual event with Guadeloupan Jean Chinapayen after knocking down 119 plates on the first day.

With this gold medal, the Guatemalan delegation has eight medals in the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 and is positioned in fifth place in the general medal table, maintaining the leadership among the Central American delegations in the current edition of the regional competitions.
