Real Madrid’s French striker, Kylian Mbappé, reacted enthusiastically to the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the new France coach.
The captain of Les Bleus shared a message on his social networks in which he wrote: “Welcome to your home”, accompanied by a photograph of the former coach, the shield of the French Football Federation (FFF) and the inscription “Zidane 2026”.
The publication became Mbappé’s first public reaction a few hours after the FFF made official the hiring of Zidane, who will take office with a contract that will extend until the 2030 Fifa World Cup.
Mbappé, who inherited the captain’s armband after the international retirement of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, thus showed his support for one of the greatest legends of French football.
The arrival of Zidane generates expectations among French fans, especially due to the possibility of working together with Mbappé, currently considered the main figure of the France team and one of the most influential footballers in the world. The 27-year-old attacker will be one of the fundamental pieces of the new sports project led by the 1998 world champion.
