MP asks for 20 years in prison for those accused in the Los Capitol case and details how the victims were deceived

In the Los Capitol case, at the hearing this Tuesday, July 28, the Public Ministry (MP) requested that Carlos Josué Aquino be sentenced to 20 years in incommutable prison for the crime of aggravated robbery in royal competition.

Aquino is accused of having detained two people inside a beauty salon, located in a shopping center in zone 1 of the capital.l, and demand money in exchange for releasing them.

According to the MP, certain circumstances established by law must be analyzed to impose a fair sentence.

According to the investigation, the victims were lured by deception through a supposed beauty salon, so that they entered with confidence.

Furthermore, according to the prosecution, they used social networks to advertise offers of services, so that the victims came without suspecting that they were at risk.

Once inside the premises, those affected were held against their will, according to the MP.

“There was a complete disregard for the dignity of the victims, since they were forced to lie to their family and friends so that they believed that they were in a situation in which they should help them, which is why they deposited money with them or, even, in one of the cases, the victim’s brother arrived at the scene to leave a certain amount of money,” argued the prosecutor in charge of the case.

The prosecution revealed that those affected were detained for several hours and were victims of physical and psychological aggression.

The MP indicated that, when those affected tried to leave or were allowed to do so, they recorded a video with their Personal Identification Document (DPI), under the threat of making the recording public so that people would realize their presence in the supposed beauty salon and, probably, their sexual orientation.

The MP explained that this situation instilled fear in the victims of being socially or family rejected.

“Consequently, the Public Ministry requests that the sentence of 10 years of incommutable prison be imposed for each of the events, the sum being 20 years of prison,” the prosecutor requested the judge.

Following the MP’s request, Carlos Josué Aquino’s defense asked Judge César Amezquita to benefit his client with an acquittal.

The defendant, in his statement, said he was innocent and that he only worked cleaning the premises.

The hearing in which the resolution will be announced was scheduled for August 24, at 2 p.m.
