Neighbors of Santiago Sacatepéquez oppose the transfer of minors of Lev Tahor by the SBS

Neighbors of the Jardines de Santiago Condominium, in Santiago Sacatepéquez, reject the transfer of 27 girls from the Lev Tahor community to a property located in that sector, which they point out has been rented by the Secretariat of Social Welfare (SBS).

With barrels, sand, pebrin and tires, residential neighbors closed the entrance to the main entrance to prevent minors from entering the property in charge of the SBS.

The neighbors indicate that this is not the place indicated for minors, so they require the Ministry of Social Welfare to look for another place and respect their rights in the private neighborhood.

To this rejection have also joined other neighbors of nearby colonies, since they indicate that these types of places could house minors in conflict with the law, which would put the tranquility of the municipality at risk.

In addition to blocking the entrance to avoid the entry of minors, the neighbors have organized to make guards in the entrance checkpoints.

In this regard, Marvin Rabanales, director of the SBS, ensures that a habitability analysis will be made, to determine if the minors of the sect, which are under the protection of the entity, can be installed in the property.

In addition, he explains that so far they are in a negotiation process to determine if it is viable to rent the property, so they have not yet signed a lease.
