The latest incidents in Marquense matches played at the Marquise de la Ensenada seems to have become a problem, both for the National Football Federation of Guatemala (Fedefut) and for the National League
This is because both in the meetings against communications and before Xelajú, the parties have taken more time than necessary to develop since lThus climatic conditions of the region (fog) make the safe practice of football.
Given this situation, since it was repeated twice in less than a month, the Fedefut has suggested to the National League that No more matches are scheduled to Marquense.
The decision came from the FEDEFUT administrative secretary, William Rodríguez, who sent William Rosales, league manager, a note so that “Marquense is no longer scheduled at night when he plays in the Marquise de la Ensenada stadium.”
The application is based on the effects that the weather has had in recent weeks, where it has prevented the development of the parties from being carried out during the stipulated schedule.
The last time the weather prevented a match at the Marquise de la Ensenada for normal was on Sunday, April 20, 2025, when the Deportivo Marquense received Xelajú Mc.
The match was agreed to develop at 7:00 p.m. and although it started in time, it had to be suspended when 23 minutes were barely elapsed both for the mist present in the stadium and by the smoke caused by pyrotechnic games.
The situation forced the referee to consider that the practice of football was not adequate under those conditions and made the decision to momentarily suspend the duel.
It had to spend more than an hour for visibility conditions to be adequate to play again, so the match resumed around 21.00.
Marquense still has two games to play at Clausura 2025, but only one in the Marquise of the Ensenada.
This duel will be the closure of the regular phase on Sunday, April 27, but being the last date will be played at 3:00 p.m. along with the rest of the day duels.
In case of classifying the final phase, Marquense must pay attention to the recommendation not to play matches during night.
