An armed attack registered in Canalitos, zone 24 of Guatemala City, left a young man without life and two injured.
The incident occurred on the morning of this Saturday, April 26 in the La Fidelidad neighborhood, where a 20 -year -old man died and two more people were seriously injured, according to preliminary reports.
Rafael Zúñiga, spokesman for municipal firefighters, reported that the mortal victim was identified as Edwin Manolo Luna Barco, 20 years old. He also indicated that his uncle, approximately 46, and his younger brother, 12, were transferred in critical condition to the General San Juan de Dios Hospital.
According to the first versions, the armed attack occurred while Luna Barco learned to drive. The three victims were aboard a vehicle when two subjects who moved on a motorcycle approached and fired several times against them.
Due to bullet wounds, Luna Barco died in the place, while firefighters gave first aid to survivors. The child was admitted to the Pediatrics area.
Agents of the National Civil Police (PNC) and prosecutors of the Public Ministry (MP) arrived at the scene, where at least 18 bullet caps were located. As the first hypothesis, the authorities handle that it was a direct attack, possibly related to gang structures operating in the sector.
The investigation continues to clarify the causes already responsible for the fact.
