PNC details shooting in Bárcenas that ended up with a man entrenched in church

Moments of panic were lived this Sunday, May 4 in a sector of Zone 3 of Bárcenas, Villa Nueva, where PNC agents neutralized a man who entrenched himself in a Catholic Church, where a mass was officiated, after having faced bullets with the security forces.

The PNC revealed the details of the incident, which began in a shopping center in San Miguel Petapa and concluded in Bárcenas after a persecution, said César Mateo, spokesman for the institution.

He pointed out that, after an alert about an individual who threatened private security guards in a shopping center in San Miguel Petapa, the police began an operation that culminated in a persecution.

Matthew said that the suspect, when he was intercepted by the police units, disobeyed the order of Alto, so a persecution was triggered to Bárcenas, Villa Nueva, where the subject descended from the Picop in which he drove and shot at the uniformed. The agents responded to the fire.

In his attempt to escape, the subject entrenched himself in a Catholic Church, where PNC agents entered in the middle of the panic of the parishioners and captured him. He was identified as Daniel “R.”, 25.

The authorities seized both the firearm he carried and the Picop, of recent model, in which he was driving.

Mateo explained that the vehicle will be subjected to a review by anti -narcotics agents, supported by canine units, because the subject’s aggressive behavior generates doubts.

The spokesman highlighted the police response to the incident, which, according to him, allowed to quickly neutralize the threat without putting civilians at risk.

“Citizens of the place, upset by the irresponsibility of this man, agglomerated in order to vapulate the detainee and burn the vehicle, but was evacuated,” says the PNC.
