Pope Leo XIV today sent a special greeting “to the moms”, in which they are dedicated in different countries, including Italy, as well as several groups of pilgrims.
“I send a beloved greeting to all moms, with a prayer for them and for those who are already in heaven. Good party” to all, the pontiff said after the Sunday prayer of noon in San Pedro.
He took advantage of the end of his speech to greet pilgrims who have arrived in Rome to celebrate the jubilee.
Among them, a group of doctors from Granada (Spain), as well as pilgrims of Valladolid (Spain) and Torrelodones (Madrid), among others.
About one hundred thousand people gathered today in San Pedro to follow the first Sunday prayer of the new Pontiff, which last Thursday was chosen by the Cardinals’ conclave.
Mother’s Day Celebration in Italy
The Festa Della Mamma is held this Sunday in Italy.
There, as in other countries, moms are celebrated on the second Sunday of May.
The usual thing in Italy is to take flowers and/or go to eat with them.
