Five months after the inauguration of the XII Central American Games, Guatemala 2025 begins to take shape as one of the most ambitious and expected sporting events in the region. During a press conference held on Saturday, May 10, the Organizing Committee presented new logistics advances, highlighted the key role of the International Sub -Subdiates and announced the strengthening of protocols of security in collaboration with high -level authorities.
One of the most relevant ads was the confirmation of Panama and Honduras as official sub -spare parts of the event, which will take place from October 18 to 30, 2025. The two Central American nations will house specific competitions in sports recently integrated to the calendar: Panama will host the E-Sports and Flag Soccer tournaments, while Honduras will organize the disciplines of Sambo and struggles.
These incorporations raise to 42 the total sports included in the official calendar of the Central American Games 2025, which represents a record figure for the regional fair. In addition to the city of Guatemala, which will have 24 venues, 13 sub -currencies will be used in the interior of the country, which will allow a broader and decentralized participation of the event.
Along the same lines, the Organizing Committee has had strategic meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of the Interior, with the aim of implementing a security system in several phases that guarantees the order and protection of athletes, delegations and spectators. The talks have directly involved the Minister of Defense and senior government officials, who promised to provide their total support for the event.
With these decisions, Guatemala takes firm steps towards the consolidation of an unprecedented regional sports infrastructure. The confirmed headquarters, both in the capital and in the departments, are already in phases of adaptation and reconditioning, while international sub -fields have the technical support of their respective National Olympic Committees.
At the sports level, the participation of more than 5,000 athletes from the seven Isthmus countries, who will compete for two intense weeks full of action, culture and regional fellowship, is expected.
The Organizing Committee said it will continue to inform the advances every month and reiterated that the planning progresses as established. International delegations will begin arriving at the beginning of October to carry out their respective adaptations and previous training.
