Mictlán made history again and did it at home, before his people, with a comeback of a large team. The rabbits turned the series against Chiquimulilla and sealed their return to the National League.

The atmosphere was of pressure and hope. Mictlán arrived at the second leg of the semifinal with a disadvantage in the global, after falling 3-2 in the first leg. But the current First Division champion knew that in his strength, the La Asunción stadium could reverse the score … and did it on character.

Just at the 18th minute, Santiago Gómez lit the illusion with a goal that tied the 3-3 series. The goal aroused the roar of the fans who took the stands and evidenced that it would not be any party. Mictlán did not lower his rhythm and knew how to handle the emotions of the encounter, while Chiquimulilla began to retreat.

The second half was intense and tense, with both squads aware that an error could cost the ascent. It was at minute 60 when César Chinchilla appeared with an accurate shot and scored 2-0 in the game, the global 4-3 that returned the category to the miteco team and unleashed the madness in Jutiapa.

Again, at 80, Chinchilla reappeared on the scoreboard to sign its double and seal the series with a 5-3 global score.

Chiquimulilla tried to react, but it wasn’t enough. Mictlán showed defensive solidity, intelligence to handle time and heart to close a series that returns them to the highest level of national football. A deserved ascent, worked and celebrated by a whole community that had waited almost a decade this moment.

With this victory, Mictlán not only reaches the glory of the ascent, he also gets into the final of the Clausura 2025 tournament of the First Division, where he will face Aurora FC, a team that also sealed his pass this weekend. The final promises to be electrifying, between two historical ones that have demonstrated consistency throughout the championship.

Now the rabbits go for the two -time championship, after being champions in Opening 2024. The return to the National League arrives with revenge, silent work and the back of a hobby that never abandoned the dream.
