The Plenary of the Congress began its session with three hours late and a wide agenda that includes various initiatives for its first reading. The session is held in the midst of the uncertainty of whether you will know the salary increase or the decision is exclusively on the Board of Directors, as confirmed by an act of February 4.

The deputies were summoned for 2 pm on Tuesday, November 25, but the deputies did not start the session despite the fact that some were marked shortly after the aforementioned time.

The delay was due to a discussion among managers. The presidency of the Congress, according to sources that preferred not to be cited, was the stage of meetings to define the route on the increase in salary for the deputies authorized by the Board of Directors itself in Act 10 – 2025.

The deputies maintained a broad agenda to know 14 initiatives in the first reading, five of them opinions that were issued by the Health Commission in 2024.

The plenary session began around 5 pm and the deputies requested to alter the agenda so that the 6456 initiative that proposes reforms to the Law of the National Day of the Comadrona approved national urgency.

Reaching this point, in addition to the delay due to the unpunctuality of the deputies, was slow, the deputies took advantage of the work of these women that was represented by a group of midwives who were waiting for the session in a timely manner from two in the afternoon .

The project was finally known of national emergency and modifies an article that contemplates delivering economic aid to the comadrones. The original opinion mentioned an incentive divided into two payments of Q3 thousand, but other offers arose to expand the contribution, which continues under discussion.

At the moment, the authorities of the Legislative Agency have not informed whether the discussion of the salary increase for deputies will reach the Plenary of the Congress, as the Constitutional Court (CC) ordered it.
