According to the SAT, two passengers from Panama tried to enter Guatemala Gold jewelry without declaring.

The Superintendence of Tax Administration (SAT) reported this Friday, February 28 that as part of the risk management controls implemented at the La Aurora International Airport, the Central Aviation Customs staff identified two passengers from Panama, on different flights.
He affirmed that both passengers tried to enter the country Jewelry of Gold without declaring.
According to the SAT, the pieces, hidden inside their luggage and clothing, have a customs value of Q143 thousand 13.52.
Given this situation, “both passengers were made available to the competent authorities for due legal process,” said the SAT.
He added that, through the use of analytical tools and rigorous controls, it reinforces the measures to prevent illegal entry of goods, and to guarantee at the same time an efficient and safe passenger flow
“This action is part of the strategies of the SAT, in coordination with the coincidence and in compliance with the national prevention and combat policy of the customs fraud and smuggling,” the institution added.
