Mixco municipal firefighters reported that on Tuesday night, an abandoned newborn was located in the Chapel of the Santa Cecilia parish, in the San Ignacio neighborhood, Zone 7 of Mixco.
Mynor Espinoza, spokesman for the commune of Mixco, said that the Municipal Office for Child Protection operated to provide support to the child.
He added that the baby was abandoned at the time there was no parishioner.
He indicated that the Attorney General’s Office also intervened for the protection of the minor; In addition, the commune will follow up on the case.
A similar case was recorded on February 21, when a child under 10 months was abandoned on Elena “B” Avenue and 16 street of zone 1 of the capital.
