Erick Fernando Solórzano Pirir, suspect of the crime against the mayor of Chuararoncho, will be investigated for the crime of murder.
Solórzano Pirir, alleged member of the 18th neighborhood, went to the Fifth Criminal Court for the First Declaration Hearing, judicial sources reported on Tuesday.
The suspect was captured on Saturday, March 8 in Escuintla.
He is syndicated by the Public Ministry (MP) of being the alleged responsible for the death of the head chief Gerson Saúl Ajcú Xot.
The armed attack against the official occurred on the route to the Atlantic on February 26 during the afternoon.
The MP will have a period of three months to expand the investigation and the intermediate stage hearing was scheduled for June 26.
At the request of the defense, the suspect will be transferred to the renovation I jail and the hearings will be by videoconference.
