Fernanda Bonilla, indicated as the main suspect of the crime of the young Melisa Palacios, made a transmission on social networks from the Zacapa prison and used a cell phone in January 2022. However, little is known about that investigation.
The use of cell phones is prohibited in the prisons of Guatemala. However, in each requirement these devices are confiscated, although the inmates continue to have access to them, as Bonilla demonstrated in January 2022.
The cell phone was confiscated by the Zacapa Prosecutor’s Office, but there are no details about the progress of that process. The Department of Communication of the Public Ministry (MP) has been consulted on the case, but so far has not answered.

One of the phones confiscated to Bonilla contains a chat with his bodyguard, José Luis Marroquín, of July 3, 2021, a day before the disappearance and death of Melisa Palacios.
In the conversation, Bonilla and Marroquín agreed to go for Melisa on July 4. However, there is a message that could give a turn to the case.
Bonilla wrote: “I (Fernanda Bonilla) I’m going to kill her”.

The live broadcast was made from the “Bossnanditaba15” account and, according to the records, there were an average of 45 people connected.
In the video, Bonilla Archila interacts with a friend, talks about Melisa Palacios’ family and how the process against her advanced. He also assured that he would be released from the case.
Bonilla Archila mentioned that his audience was not held because “The mother of the late Melisa Palacios did not appear because she was bad”so they could not grant substitute measures on that occasion.
Her friend asked her what Melisa’s mother had to do at the audience, to which Bonilla replied that, as a complainant, she should be present, but did not arrive.
In addition, Bonilla said that the crimes for which they are prosecuted have substitute measures and that, for that reason, he was interested in the audience to be held.
