This Saturday, March 15, important sectors of the city register slow traffic because of a traffic accident in which two motorists lost their lives when they were under a trailer that ran over Km 12.7 of the route to the Atlantic, official sources reported.
According to social media reports, the trailer pilot lost control of the vehicle, crossed the opposite lane and hit the motorists. The victims were under the heavy transport tires.
In addition, the trailer collided with a private vehicle, in which another person died.
“Three deceased and injured in Traffic Accident of Km 12.7 of the Route to the Atlantic. Volunteer Firefighters from companies 85 and 50 attended the emergency, ”lifeguards reported on their social networks.
Amílcar Montejo, spokesman for Emetra, said on his social networks that, due to this accident, traffic is complicated in several sectors of Guatemala City.
“The Public Ministry continues in the route to the Atlantic, Km 12.7, between zone 18 and zone 25. The congestion reaches the peripheral, near the Villa Linda bridge, zone 7,” Montejo said.
He added that zone 1 ceased to be an alternate route, because three processions are carried out simultaneously.
