Members of the Brotherhood of Jesús Nazareno de la Paz de Don Bosco denounced that they were victims of a robbery while transporting in a rental vehicle per application, in zone 1 of the capital.

Criminals stripped the members of the Brotherhood of Money, Distinctive Shifts and Medals that would be used during the third Saturday of Lent, official sources reported on Tuesday, March 18.

Members of the Brotherhood of Jesús Nazareno de la Paz of the National Expiatory Sanctuary to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Don Bosco, lamented what happened and asked the authorities to find those responsible. The theft occurred while a vehicle for rent per application were transported.

“With deep regret and dismay we want to inform you that on Friday, March 14, at 11:00 p.m., at the end of the extraordinary return procession, our coordinator of the Shift Sale Commission was a victim of the growing insecurity we faced in our country, in the 4th street and 4th Avenue of Zone 1,” says a statement from the Brotherhood.

He adds that, in that incident, criminals stole the following:

  • The Chican Box of the Procession Committee
  • A batch of shifts pending to sell for the third Saturday of Lent
  • A lot of identification medals of the members of the procession committee
  • Receipt and offering receipts with the following correlative: from No. 4801 to 4850, from 4966 to 5000, from 5001 to 5050 and from 5051 to 5100
  • A lot of chromos of Jesús Nazareno de la Paz and the Blessed Virgin of Dolores
  • A commemorative pin of the 75 years of the Virgen de Dolores
  • Several personal objects of those affected

The statement adds: “The Salesian community, together with the procession committee, strongly condemns this act and sympathizes with our brother. We call on all the parishioners to stay alert and report any information that helps recover these sacred objects, essential for the experience of our faith and tradition.”
