Thousands of Guatemalans have been affected by BLOCKS against this measurepromoted by the government of Bernardo Arévalo. The disposition has taken dozens of protesters to the streets that, on the afternoon of this Tuesday, March 18, they keep the traffic in at least 12 main arteries of the capital.
Amílcar Montejo, head of communication of Emetraconfirmed that the blockages persist in at least 12 points in the city and that it has been observed to Groups of people that could close other routes.
“We are finishing the second third of the day and during this March 18, 2025, the vehicle blockages in the Valley of the Capital City follow, this against the mandatory insurance that was published in the Official Gazette, according to what the protesters have reported,” said Montejo.
He added that, due to the protests, the service of your bus and transmetro was suspended, since several main and secondary roads are affected.
Montejo recommended being informed through serious and trustworthy media, as well as in the official social networks of the Municipality, where the reactivation of such services will be announced.
