The investigation against a leader of the 18th neighborhood and its operators began in Santa Rosa, after the gang members committed several armed attacks and were denounced for extortion collection.

Researchers from the National Division against Criminal Development of the Gangs (Diponda) of the National Civil Police (PNC) were ambushed by alleged gang members on Wednesday, March 26 in a sector of El Mezquital, Zone 12 of Villa New and now there are details of how this incident occurred, since the agents followed up to chiefs of the 18th neighborhood gang from Santa Rosa.
The follow -up to the suspects led Diponda agents to the La Esperanza neighborhood, zone 12 of Villa Nueva, where there are allegedly the hairs of the clique leaders of the 18th neighborhood.
According to police reports, the three PNC agents were aboard a vehicle from the institution when two men, allegedly members of the 18th neighborhood, shot them.
The researchers were located real estate where the gang members live, said the PNC.
In addition, the reports detailed that the operation was in monitoring of the information and file in charge of the Prosecutor’s Office of Santa Rosa of the Public Ministry.
“Being 18.31 on March 26, we were intercepted by two armed individuals, who carried firearms and who, without a word, opened fire against our humanity, so the attack was repelled to evacuate the area,” said the agents.
The three police investigators said they fled towards the substation of El Mezquital, zone 12 of Villa Nueva, to take refuge, while the suspects escaped among the alleys.

Francisco Jiménez, Minister of the Interior, said in their social networks that they will stop gang members who shot at the PNC agents.
“Valient Diponda researchers were ambushed by gang members of the 18th neighborhood in the Mezquital, Zone 12. They are desperate. 13 direct shots, no injured agent. Each shot against the police force reinforces our mission: let’s go after you,” wrote the official.
