According to the organization, the campaign Gaby’s challenge It was launched in September 2024 with the aim of sensitizing and mobilizing the population so that more girls and boys have educational resources. In addition, they indicated that the acquisition of the kits they delivered were thanks exclusively to the voluntary contribution made by private donors to UNICEF Guatemala.

According to UNICEF, the kits are a complement to the efforts already made by the Ministry of Education so that all children have quality materials and with cultural relevance since the beginning of the school year.
Each kit contains teaching materials and school supplies such as pencils, notebooks, books and blackboards for 40 students.
“This will allow supporting the teaching-learning process, as well as contributing to the curricular concretion in classroom and the strengthening of bilingual and intercultural education of thousands of children in the rural area of Guatemala,” the organization said.
“Education is a fundamental right and, with this campaign, we are contributing to more girls and boys in Guatemala have access to materials that reinforce their learning. The delivery of these kits is only the beginning of a continuous effort to strengthen education in the country,” said Manuel Rodríguez Pumarol, representative of UNICEF in Guatemala.

Unicef Guatemala members also participated during the activity in which Gaby Moreno delivered kits to children and teachers.
“I feel very happy and excited to be here, in this school in Chinautla. We are making an official delivery of the first kit of many that we will deliver to several schools thanks to UNICEF and to the support of all the people who joined this challenge,” said Moreno.
The singer -songwriter highlighted the participation of the donors, who contributed to the students have materials.
“Thank you very much to all donors because these materials will be very useful for boys and girls during their school year. From the bottom of my heart, what I want most is to support my country’s childhood, support education that is the most important thing,” added the singer -songwriter and goodwill of Unicef Guatemala.
During the stay at the Mixed Rural School El Chan I, in Chinautla, several boys and girls shared their concerns with Moreno and also thanked for supporting them with materials that will benefit their tasks and learning during the current school year.

Gaby Moreno I thank all my heart for providing a better opportunity to our students,” said Ligia Patricia Gómez, a fifth and sixth primary teacher.
For her part, María Isabel Flores López, director of the establishment, congratulated the national singer -songwriter already UNICEF for the initiative she described as valuable.
