A large stone, attributed to the Xinca culture, was found in a private property in Ligarto, Santa Catarina Mita, Jutiapa. The Ministry of Culture confirmed that it will carry out an inspection to determine its authenticity.

Neighbors of Lugarto, Santa Catarina Mita, Jutiapa, reported on the finding of a large stone that, they say, belongs to the Xinca culture, so the Ministry of Culture will analyze the piece.
Villagers of said community stole a stone with supposed Xincas engravings, which, they said, weighs more than two tons and will be analyzed by experts from the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
Local media published the version of the inhabitants, who explained that they knew about the existence of the stone for more than 50 years, but this was not exposed to the community, since it was on a private property.
The settlers say that the name of the place comes from the shape of the stone, which, for the moment, will remain in front of the home of the land owner where the finding was made.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports confirmed that it was already informed about the finding and extraction of said piece.
It was indicated that the Vice Minister of Cultural and Natural Heritage, Laura Cotí Lux, said that this type of reports are treated with seriousness and importance, so an inspection will be carried out to analyze the stone and confirm its authenticity and temporality.
A technical opinion will be issued that allows obtaining information about its dating, history and possible origin, Cotí explained.
The technical visit is expected to be carried out after Holy Week.
