Cold wind and possible rains is the weather forecast for Holy Week 2025 in Guatemala

This week, from April 14 to 20, the Major week, Asueto that thousands of Guatemalans and foreign tourists take the opportunity to visit tourist sites in the country.

Many people also participate in the processional courtships scheduled nationwide as of Holy Monday.

To know how the weather will be in Guatemala during this week, loaded with recreational and religious activities, the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh) shared its prognosis.

The Insivumeh foresees the cold wind of the north, gradually decreasing; Areas with fog or mist in the early hours of the morning, and warm and misty atmosphere.

In addition, drilling and/or scattered rains are forecast, accompanied by electrical activity in the afternoon, with greater possibility from Holy Wednesday.

The scattered rains planned for this week are associated with the entrance of moisture of both coastlines and high temperatures.

The Insivumeh warned that soils, in most of the country, are dry, so the proliferation of forest fire spotlights is not ruled out.

• Maximum temperatures for the central and western highlands from 23 ° C to 30 ° C.
• Pacific regions: from 36 ° C to 38 ° C
• North region, including Petén: from 33 ° C to 35 ° C
• Alta Verapaz from 26 ° C to 28 ° C
• Caribe 32 ° C at 34 ° C

• Motagua Region and Valles of the East between 37 ° C to 39 ° C

• Minimum temperatures in the western highlands between 2 ° C to 4 ° C.
