This April 16 the Municipality of Antigua Guatemala issued a statement where they report on the Prohibition of strident sounds and the sale of alcoholic beverages during Holy Week celebrations.
In a statement published Wednesday, the commune of Antigua details that The prohibition of sounds strong applies to all commercial establishments such as Hotels, bars and recreation centers during the Major Week.
The consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages on public roads is also prohibited, also in establishments that, according to the municipality, “do not have due authorization for this purpose “.
Another prohibition made by the municipality is that the “exhibition, rent, sale or marketing of goods and serviceS “, without prior authorization.
Finally, the municipality indicates that the reason for these restrictions is for “Preserve order, respect for religious traditions and the patrimonial and cultural value of the city. “
