“In recent years I have been dedicated to my producer’s role and I have had a great time, I have learned next to several colleagues whom I have supported in their albums and songs. However, I decided to resume my career as a singer -songwriter and somehow resume songs that I had already worked, but now with a more mature sound,” said Castillejos.
The national artist describes The butterfly and the sun As an emotional journey that remembers that spark of how invisible that begins to burn, mutual discovery and shared vulnerability. In addition, he insists that it is a story of nascent love and a reminder that relationships, such as white butterflies that fly over pain, can fill the lungs of hope.
With this new version, Castillejos shows a deeply human work, where light and shadow coexist, And the sound bet shows the learning acquired in Digital Analogue, its recording studio, located in San Lucas Sacatepéquez.
“The butterfly and the sun It was the first song that I published with new sound, new arrangements and with a musical maturity acquired over time ”, Castillejos said, who plans to publish a mini EP with several songs. In addition, during the year it will continue with unpublished issues, productions, collaborations, and faithful to its essence, which is summarized in creating with honesty and emotion.

Between folk melancholic and Synths Etéreos, Castillejos fuses acoustic guitars enveloping with a subtle production, which allowed him to create the perfect scenario for that feeling of nostalgia and loss and a song that he recommends for nights of introspection, to remember what once was.
According to Castillejos, these pieces will be followed by successes such as Kissing the mudfortunately they have been the taste of several people and who will have a special treatment.
“I hope that with these new versions I can connect with more public, than this sound that I present can reach more people, so that, together, we can enjoy this lyrical and auditory exchange,” he said.
Participation in the epicenter Showcase
According to Castillejos, its recent musical production can be seen live on Sunday, April 27, during the first edition of the Epicenter Showcase, an event that has the mission of giving voice to the new musical generations in Guatemala and the Central America region.
“Many times I usually present myself only because many musicians are involved in their projects and sometimes we have no time to rehearse. On other occasions I have introduced myself with Walter, but for the set that I will present in Epicenter Showcase I will have a drummer, guitarist and bassist,” said Castillejos.
According to the Guatemalan singer -songwriter, that event, in which Easy Easy, Kello’s house, Tita, Cynthia Fion, Leena Bae, Fabulos and The Lilas will also participate, will allow his admirers to listen live the new versions of his successes and his current proposal.
“We are going to build a kind of super band for my set and Tita’s, because she is going to sing with me and me,” Castillejos added.
“Many people are used to seeing me alone with an acoustic guitar, but this time it will be special because the event allows planning more details and we will rehearse with full band to present these reversions,” added the national singer -songwriter and producer.
For Castillejos, the epicenter Showcase represents a special opportunity to share with colleagues and with those passionate about music and diversity of projects.
“Something important that I highlight from this event is that all the artists and musicians who are going to participate are active, we have new simple ones, some already with recent records and that seems very close to me because it will allow us to hear news,” he concluded.
