The Municipal Transit Police (PMT) of the city of Guatemala provides road complications this Wednesday, April 30 around the Congress of the Republic, due to a protest announced by expatrrollers of civil self -defense in that sector.

Amílcar Montejo, communication director of Emetra, indicated that the demonstration could also imply changes in the transmetro routes, so he called on the population to be attentive to the decisions that are taken around the protest.

Representatives of the Expatrollers notified the Departmental Government about the possibility of carrying out a demonstration that day from 9 am, on the 8th Avenue and 9th Street in Zone 1, behind the Congress of the Republic, Montejo explained in a message published on their social networks.

Montejo added that from the administration of traffic, the 3rd and 1st Avenue is recommended as alternate routes if it is directed to the north of the historic center, and the 10th and 12th avenue if it goes south. He also requested alert to the possibility of changes in the route of line 1 of the transmetro, which could be diverted on the 5th street, and then use the 10th Avenue and, through the 12th street, return to the 8th Avenue on its usual route to the Civic Center area.

At the moment it is unknown if it will be a protest or the blockade of streets, and there is no clarity regarding the demands of the expatrollers.
