From the perspective of social movements and their relationship with politics, the Central America festival will celebrate a conversation about its effects in Guatemala.
Among conversations, presentations and literary activities, Central America has its 2025 edition (Photo: Central America)
In a space for dialogue, this edition of Central America will open a conversation in which the issue will be addressed: What has been the role of indigenous social organizations in Guatemala’s policies and its impact on democratic consolidation in recent months?
The organization of the festival indicates that in the conversation it will be discussed “the process of articulation of the communities, the national strike as a resistance tool and the relationship of these movements with the political elites and civil society.”
The event will bring together Guatemalan figures such as Rigoberto Quemé, Romeo Tiul, Leticia Zapeta Soch and Juan Ajpacajá, who will talk with Ricardo Sáenz Tejada from the headquarters of the indigenous communities in Totonicapán.
