Antigua and municipal were not harmed in the first chapter of the series that will define the champion of the Clausura 2025, in the match that took place in the Pensivo Stadium of Antigua Guatemala.
The great figure of the match was the red goalkeeper Kenderson Navarro.
Thanks to its interventions, the colonial team could not take advantage in the first leg, leaving the definition of the next national champion for Sunday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Manuel Felipe Carrera stadium.
In the first minutes, the clear dominator was municipal. Although in previous matches the scarlet team used to let its rival carry the initiative, against Antigua GFC, Sebastián Bini sent its players to squeeze, and scarlet efforts almost bear fruit when Pedro Altán crashed a ball in the stick of Luis Morán, at minute 7.
The clearest of the local team reached the 43rd minute, when Robinson Flores was alone in front of the arch, but his shot failed despite the goalkeeper Kenderson Navarro was already defeated, after taking a dangerous ball to Óscar Santis.
Before, at 26, Cristian Hernández also notified the red arch, but his attempt was in the hands of Navarro.
In the second half, if Antigua failed to take advantage, it was thanks to the interventions of Navarro, which, as against Mixco in the quarterfinals and Marquense in the semifinals, sustained his team again at the best moments of the rival.
The panorama was complicated for Municipal when Pedro Altán was expelled at minute 81, after committing a foul on José Rosales.
