He has distinguished because, in his free time, he receives extracurricular chemistry classes. In addition, he is the youngest student who has participated as a listener in the Astronomy Diploma of the Galileo University, as well as an active member of the Guatemalan Association of Astronomy (AGA).

The Global Child Prodigy Awards (Global prizes for children Prodigio, GCP Awards) They are a unique initiative that recognizes, appreciates and rewards children prodigy from all over the world. Its objective is to identify young talents from various fields that demonstrate exceptional skills in areas such as academia, arts, sports and innovation.
To participate in these awards, the interested parties must send their information and go through a process that, in the case of Guatemalan, took about half a year.

David López Aragón, recognized among the 100 prodigy children and selected for the global prizes for children Prodigio 2025, was preselected among thousands of nominations from 130 countries. He will be honored in the prestigious ceremony that will be held on June 26, 2025, in the House of Commons, British Parliament, the United Kingdom, as explained in the official communication.
López was selected in the category of Space Sciences and Astronomy. It is now part of an exceptional group of children who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in various fields, such as science, innovation, arts, music, sports, entrepreneurship and social impact. This recognition places it among a global community of young talents whose work is forging the future.
Global prizes to children Prodigio, in their third edition, are dedicated to identifying and honoring exceptional children under 15 years. The event has the support of Charles Group and Hindustan Group of Institutions, two organizations deeply committed to the empowerment of the next generation.

On Monday, May 12, he participated in an activity in Chimaltenango invited to a scientific fair at the Miguel Hidalgo Federation School, by the Guatemalan Association of Engineering and Space Sciences – Agice. More than one thousand five hundred students attended the event, in which López gave talks and explained how to use a telescope.
