During the Friday of June, the Manuel Galich Chamber of the Popular University presents the Teatro’s workeither: 75 stabs.
75 stabs A crime through an intense and emotional narrative, the work reveals the motivations, tensions and conflicts that led to this violent act, explains the Oniria production team.
It is a staging loaded with black humor is narrated the mysterious case of a corpse found in a closed room … with seventy -five stabs and not a drop of blood.
Only an eccentric detective can try to resolve the crime, facing its own clumsiness and the twisted logic of the case. “The comedy is healthy and although it is not for children, adolescents and young people they would not find anything out of place in it,” explains Arana.
This is a police comedy written by the renowned Argentine playwright Martín Giner (1975). Giner has written works like TErapia, native vegetables, Oniria, half a town either The autosiluminated cars.
The staging features the performance Carlos Leiva, a young actor in the Guatemalan theater, playing the naive detective Winslow. Beside him and also in charge of the direction is Roberto Arana, with whom they make a fun and disturbing dumbbell at the same time.
This work also marks the return of Arana who had a recess in the theater for almost five years, although he has done private projects. The director explains that 75 stabshe impressed him, “Giner has an ironic humor at times, but without falling into the vulgar,” he said.
Arana began walking in the artstudio Kodaly under the direction of Alma Monsanto, from whom the musical theater, singing and contemporary dance received instruction. Since then I have participated in various theatrical projects that range from the musical, through drama, comedy and even absurd. In 2006 he was a founder with Guillermo Monsanto of Aquelarre Contemporary Theater with whom he worked for 10 years. As of 2012, he explored his own scenic montages producing and directing works such as Equus, the woman in Black and Hamlet.
