The authorities consigned a car and arrested the driver, because the vehicle had a device that, just by pressing a button, changed the plates. The car had three different registration numbers, so it is now investigated whether the one involved belongs to a criminal group.
Juan “G”, 29, was captured on Wednesday, June 18 after being surprised with an artifact that modified the plate of the vehicle he was driving.
The National Civil Police (PNC), informed that the three localized records correspond to other vehicles, of different models and name of different owners.
The suspect remains in prison while investigating whether it is linked to a criminal network dedicated to the theft of vehicles or kidnappings. In addition, it will face charges for falsification of vehicular records.
The system worked through an electrical connection from the cigarra to the outside of the vehicle. Just by pressing a button, in seconds, the plate record was modified.
