The Guatemalan Army, in coordination with civil security forces, carried out a search at the Pavón Penal Farm, in Fraijanes.
After the actions in the aforementioned prison, the authorities reported that during the search they seized a series of illegal items.
Jorge López Dellachiessa, general director of the Penitentiary System (SP), reported on the seizure of 10 firearms, ammunition and 48 telephones.
He added that the night search was focused on sectors of the prison, where they located caches with weapons, ammunition and telephones.
“We continue to clean the different sectors of the detention centers of illegal acts and establish control and order,” said López Dellachiessa.
The Pavón Penal Farm has been the subject of several searches, in which a series of illegal items in the possession of the inmates have been confiscated.
